8:00 AM	Session P12: Advanced Medical Life Support (AMLS) - 2-day provider course (THIS CLASS IS FULL) AMLS National Faculty Monday, Oct. 13 & Tuesday, Oct. 14 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Fee: $230 (includes textbook) Enrollment is limited and pre-registration is required. Advanced Medical Life Support (AMLS) offers a practical approach to adult medical emergencies. The course format facilitates participants’ ability to assess and manage a medical patient from an initial field impression through determining a differential diagnosis. The AMLS provider course is designed for advanced-level providers and allows for a minimal amount of lecture and ample actual hands-on physical assessment of the medical patient. Successful completion awards 16-hours of continued education in the area of patient assessment and medical emergency. Qualified participants may attend the 4-hour instructor course following the provider course on Wednesday evening. Instructor books may be purchased on-site.
8:00 AM	Session P13: Emergency Pediatric Care (EPC) - 2-day provider course EPC National Faculty Monday, Oct. 13 & Tuesday, Oct. 14 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Fee: $230 Enrollment is limited and pre-registration is required. The EPC curriculum focuses on the care of sick and injured children and gives students a practical understanding of respiratory, cardiovascular, medical and traumatic emergencies in the pediatric patient population. Assessment is based upon the Pediatric Assessment Triangle (PAT), and lessons are consistent with current pediatric knowledge and skills. The 16-hour program incorporates Family Centered Care throughout all scenarios, and includes a component on caring for children with special needs. The target audience for the accelerated two-part EPC Provider-Instructor program is experienced EMS educators with prior pediatric CME experience or interest. Qualified participants may attend the 4-hour instructor course following the provider course on Wednesday evening. Proof of recognition as an instructor in any EMS certification licensure or CME course is required.

To be an EMT you went to EMT school, to become a paramedic you went to paramedic school...now it’s time to go to Supervisor school. 8:00 AM	Session P14: PHTLS Combined Instructor and Transition Course (PHTLS) PHTLS National and State Faculty Tuesday, Oct. 14 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Fee: $190 (includes textbook) Enrollment is limited and pre-registration is required. This unique PHTLS Instructor and Transition course is designed to orient PHTLS instructor candidates and ITLS instructors to PHTLS philosophy, administration and course content. After completion of the course, candidates will need to be monitored by PHTLS Affiliate Faculty to finalize their instructor training. PHTLS providers and/or ITLS instructors are eligible for participation. Proof of current PHTLS provider or ITLS Instructor status required.
8:00 AM	Session P16: Demystifying Prehospital Research - 2-day workshop (THIS CLASS IS FULL) Baxter Larmon, PhD MICP, Professor, David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA Center for Prehospital Care Sponsored by: NAEMT Provided by: Prehospital Care Research Forum at the UCLA Center for Prehospital Care Fee: $75 Enrollment is limited and pre-registration is required. This workshop is being offered for people who are doing or interested in doing prehospital research. Participants will learn the essential components of EMS research and experience the steps of designing and implementing an EMS research project. Sponsored by NAEMT, the purpose of this workshop is to further the EMS profession by preparing individuals to conduct much needed EMS research and to reach NAEMT’s mission. Enrollment is limited, so please register early. The course will have only five core lectures. Most of the education will come in small group discussions that will allow participants to develop an EMS research topic from hypothesis, research design, literature review, methodology, institutional review, data collection, statistics review and reporting. This course will award 16 hours of continuing education credit.
